The results of the meeting tonight proved to be a very enlightening and educational meeting promoting new ideas, hightlighting the performance and improvements to the Coventry schools, mainly as a result of key staff recruitments and appointments.
All of the schools in town were represented, along with student leaders from the high school.
The students and PTA leaders provided some crucial feedback to the committee and the superintendent regarding positives and negatives within the district. Mr. Michael Hobin, the new high school principal, was given much praise from the students and school representatives for promoting and creating a school environment which is safer, more structured, and generally, "a better school".
All agreed that areas needing improvement were: technology, accountability of students to parents, and increased communication with the school department officials and the parents.
In addition, capital improvements were noted as a high priority for all of the individual schools.
Thanks to all who attended! Feedback from students, parents, teachers, and PTA members is always greatly appreciated.
Formal full list of positives and negatives to follow.
